✦ Our Foundation

Three pillars, one family

Children are precious. They need safe and caring environments where they can learn about the world, about their strengths and talents, and about how to get along with others.

🌸

HANA — "One"

"HANA" means "ONE" in Korean, reflecting our commitment to unity and individual growth. Embracing diversity, we celebrate each student's uniqueness as a vital part of our shared journey toward knowledge and personal development. So, come join us at Hana School, where we nurture not only academic growth but also the warmth of friendship and the joy of learning together as one big, supportive family.

✝️

HCIK History
🎓

Since 2006

International School since 2009

Our story starts with a vision

Hana Christian International Kindergarten was established to build a strong foundation on Christian truth and character in early childhood education. Under the direction, leadership and ministry of dedicated missionaries from Korea, who, with a vision for planting churches and serving the local community, began the implementation of a quality academic program for Nursery-Kindergarten 2 in 2006 especially for Thai students and children of missionaries serving in Thailand.

Within ONE year, HCIK had increased its enrollment significantly, leading to the opening of Kindergarten 3. As a result, HCIK was upgraded from a Bilingual school to an International School in the year 2009. For over 16 years now, Hana Christian International Kindergarten has been a school of servant leaders working in the system of faith, excellence, leadership, and love in a Christian environment for students aged 1.5-6 years old.

Dear parents, Thank you for choosing HCIK to invest in your precious child. We are as excited as you to see each child grow and become what God has made them to be. More than a great curriculum or teachers and staffs, we need parent's partnership for the achievement of our child's success. Our role as a school is to prepare our children in unique ways to help all students continue their learning and the cross cultural competency skills to enable them to become global citizens who think of others before themselves and become someone who wants to make the world a better place for everyone.

Dear parents, Hana Christian International Kindergarten is a Christian School and it is our mission to let students know about God and Jesus Christ. We recognize that choosing the right school for your child is one of the greatest decisions you face as parents and our desire is to serve and support you as you navigate through this process. HCIK believes that in order for students to develop their greatest potential, their early childhood education should be directed toward an understanding of the love of God, a love for fellow human beings, and a love of knowledge. HCIK fosters a nurturing environment in which students' spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, and artistic abilities can grow and expand. Teachers also provide a safe and loving environment, ideal for growth and stability in our young children's lives. Thank you for trusting us with the care of your child. We are devoted to developing a loving and stimulating environment for your child to flourish in. We are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of your child's life and to work with you in giving your child the best possible attention and care.

✦ Programs

Five stages of growth

From first steps to school readiness — each program is designed around how children naturally learn at every age.

Pre-School 1
1–2 Years
🕐 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pre-School 1

Use of thematic (hands-on) weekly lessons designed to help students explore and learn together while exposing children to rich language, fine motor skills, sensory learning, and a variety of basic concepts such as colors, shapes, animals, nursery rhymes, and seasonal units! Mobile toddlers are shifting from feeling secure to exploring their environment and eventually to developing an identity. We understand the natural developmental of children and develop our curriculum according to their needs. Play-based Approach, Sensory play

Play-Based Sensory Play
Pre-School 2
2–3 Years
🕐 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pre-School 2

Ready-made sequence of activities to expose students to a wealth of variety and learning lessons to stimulate his/her growing brain. Students learn through Montessori-inspired "practical life" activities. Learning through play and having an adult acknowledge the child's success are the basis for a child to flourish socially and emotionally. Play enables a child to feel good about him or herself and supports a child's willingness to persist at a task. With the emphasis on "play and autonomy," each child will express his or her feelings safely and honestly and will be given opportunities to take more responsibility for self. A child's social development will be enhanced by play experiences that include opportunities to take turns, cooperate together, and work out problems without adult interference. Play-based Approach, Sensory play, Hands-on Learning

Montessori Hands-On Autonomy
K-1
3–4 Years
🕐 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

K-1

Three year olds are full of wonder and spend a lot of time watching, observing, and imitating. Their imagination is working at all times. They are particularly interested in perfecting their fine motor skills that they once found it challenging when they were two years old. A three-year-old loves to pour, mix, mash and squeeze. All of our classrooms are designed with learning centers, which give children the opportunity to play by themselves or in groups. Traditional subjects such as math, language skills and social studies are integrated into the learning centers and introduced in the context of play. Most importantly, learning centers offers opportunities for intellectual and social development, which is the key to a successful transition to our pre-kindergarten program. Play-based Approach, Sensory play, Hands-on Learning, Centers, Trueway Kids

Learning Centers Trueway Kids
K-2
4–5 Years
🕐 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

K-2

Students will begin to get ready for K-3! They will begin to recognize both uppercase and lower-case letters, be phonologically aware (repeating sounds/sentences, rhyme, syllables, blending, beginning), letter writing, music, math, science, and social studies. All of this is achieved through hands-on and engaging activities that require critical thinking! Through our thematic based curriculum, modified Montessori methods that provide for the exploration of individual interests as they develop, high academic standards, and a strong focus on social development, HCIK students will aspire to become lifelong learners. K-3
5–6 Years
🕐 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

K-3

Your child should feel confident in her ability to meet the complex challenges. In K3 students will focus on achieving high academic standards in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening, Comprehension, Language grammar, Math, Science, and Social Studies. At age 5, your child's sense of independence will skyrocket. Accompanying that growing independence is a sponge-like eagerness for facts about the world around him/her. Meanwhile, your child's internal landscape is still ripe with imagination. This combination yields a powerful time for exploration and creativity. Prepare to be delighted and surprised by your child's growth on a daily basis! US Common Core Standard, STEM, Next Generation Science, Trueway Kids

✦ The Mission Power Foundation

Help us build brighter futures

We respond to God's great love to us by serving others with joy.

Aj. Jeon with Karen hill tribe students

A Letter from Our Founder

Hana Christian International Kindergarten operates under 'The Mission Power Foundation', a Non-Profit Christian organization established in 1999 to support and serve indigenous communities in Thailand.

The foundation has built an elementary school for the Karen Hill Tribe in Northern Thailand and we have been supporting the school for over 21 years.

We've also built a dormitory in Chiang Mai to take care of the middle school and high school students coming from the hill tribes for over 22 years, and established multiple churches across Northern Thailand since 1999.

Every gift to The Mission Power Foundation makes a difference. Your support advances our mission to provide Christ-Centered Education that is affordable. In order to meet our current needs for staff and students and to meet the needs of our future plans, we need you!

Sincerely,

Eun Ju Jeon
